IGT S+ Bill Acceptor Using a Set Chip |
- Open the main door on the machine.
- Remove the coin tray by equally lifting up, then out with both
of your hands.
- Remove the Coin hopper by pulling straight out towards you with
the hopper's handle
- Remove the main board by grasping the black colored knob (Located
at the very back of the machine) and lifting up then out towards you.
- You will see two 28 pin chips on the main board. One will be labelled
"Game" and the other labelled "Reels" on the
board itself.
- Just like when doing a game change you will need to carefully remove
the Eprom chip labelled "Game" making careful note of the
notch in the end of the chip which indicates it's proper direction
for reinstallation.
- Once the "Game" chip has been removed from the main board
you can install your BV "Set" chip in its place in the same
direction. - Use caution to ensure that all 28 pin legs of the set
chip are inserted into the correct socket holes and that none of the
legs get bent or folded underneath the chip. Take your time with
this and do one leg at a time until they are all in the correct holes.
If you do bend a leg or two don't worry about it but you must
straighten it with needle nosed pliers before proceeding.
- Reinstall the main board by carefully aligning the board with the
holder slides at each side of the board holder (located at the back
of the machine where you removed it from a few minutes earlier) Align
both sides into the nothched grooves and align the main board as level
as possible (Left to right) then slide it all the way down into the
bottom board until it stops. DO NOT FORCE IT! If it doesnt feel right
it probably isn't so stop and try again until you get it right. You
will know when it is installed correctly!
- Turn the machine power back on
- The machine should show a "0" in the coins played LCD
display (If you have no display then the board or the chip is not
installed correct so try again until you get a "0" displayed
after powering it up)
- Locate the small white test button next to the main power switch.
- Push the button and release it one time . - The display should show
a "9" and a "0" in the Display window.- Push
the
"Spin Reels" button one time and the display should change
to read "9-1". - Now puish the white test button 1 more
time. The display should read a "0"
- Push the Spin Reels button until the display changes to the coin
denomination that your machine is configured for. (Example: a 5 =.5
cent machine, a .25 =- a quarter machine) Now push the white test
button one more time to save the options into memory.
- Turn the power switch off on the machine and remove thee main system
board again just like before. Remove the "BV Set chip" from
the main board and reinstall the original "Game" Eprom
chip that was originally installed or last installed, again pay close attention
to the direction and notch of the chip so you dont install it backwards
or bend any of the chip's legs.
- Reinstall the system board by following the same procedures as
before (above). - Reinstall the Coin hopper and be carefull to ensure that
bothe sides of the hopper are in the sliders on each side and that
it is seated all the way in. Reinstall your coin tray.
- Turn the power back on the machine and allow the game to initialize
and run self tests. You should see a 61 in the display window, - If
you do then push and hold the white reset test button down until
you hear the machine "Ding" and the display change to display
a 61-1 in the window. If you get a g5 code or a 66 or a 67, simply
power off the machine and back on and do this procedure again until
you have a 61-1 displayed.
- Close the main door with the 61-1 code displayed in the window
and turn the jackpot reset key one time to load the BV and new game data
into the memory of the machine.
- The machine should reinitialize itself and then spin up and the
BV should now be working and the machine playing normally.
